Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to manage the software development life cycle, from planning and prioritising to testing and release.
Ideally we want someone based in Monmouth (Wales) or able to comfortably commute to this office at least 3x week.
Senior Java Developer responsibilities include helping translating system and user requirements into technical specifications, building Java modules and testing features before release. If you have hands-on experience developing software with secure agile methodologies (SSDLC) and are ready to team lead our offshore developers, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you will deploy and maintain functional, secure and high-quality applications.
Responsibilities:
- Help analysing user requirements
- Help prioritising, assigning and executing tasks throughout the software development life cycle
- Develop Java EE applications
- Write well-designed, efficient code
- Review team members’ code
- Help designing architecture updates and upgrades
- Help scheduling product releases with internal teams
- Document development phases
- Help ensuring our applications are secure and up-to-date
Requirements and skills:
- Work experience as a Senior Java Developer or similar role
- Experience designing, building and testing Java EE applications
- In-depth knowledge of popular Java frameworks like JSF and Spring MVC
- Experience with setting up a release process: CI/CD
- Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Devs Ops
- Good delegation and time management skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
- Able to commute to our Monmouth (Wales) office at least 3x per week.
